We have learned so much on what type of paint should be used and where just by watching these guys. We just needed to pick the color and they knew the rest. I always battled on what type of paint we should use like using eggshell, flat… on each surface, so it was nice to not even have to give it a thought.
Today was special as well, after waiting for weeks I was finally able to go into the house for more than 10 seconds! It was the first time I was able to really take my time and look at everything. Some of the rooms have been completely painted on the walls and others are prepped and ready to go.
Here are all the rooms that are done:
Front Room – Finished Paint
I like how this gray came out. It has a little green tint to it, but it still pulls out a lot of gray. This room still has a few items on our to-do list, but it is near completion.
To-do List: Add all lighting; Tile the fireplace; Refinish the Hardwoods; Change the front door
Kitchen – Finished Paint
This was the first time I could really get up close to the cabinets and see them. Anytime I was in the house they had them covered up for all the other painting.
To-do List: Install appliances; Finish the hardwood floors; Install counter tops; Start the backsplash; Install the lighting
Mudroom – Finished Paint
They originally painted the bench on the lockers accidentally, so they had to sand them down and re-stain them. We wanted the dark bench to contrast with all the light colors in this room. The wall color looks blue, but it is a light gray.
To-do List: Install floors; Install appliances
Laundry Room – Finished Paint
Dining Room – Finished Paint
This was the first room that they started the enamel coats on, so we knew how dark this gray would be for the cabinets. It matches with the living room fireplace and all the grays in our marbles and granites throughout the house.
To-do List: Install glass; Install appliances; Finish floors; Install light fixture; Install counter tops; Finish hardware on doors;
Alexa’s Room – Finished Paint
Alexa wanted her walls to be gray, so that she could switch her bedroom colors easier. It also is something she can grow into and not be stuck with a little girl’s color. It is the same color we used in the Master and Baby’s room.
To-do List: Refinish Flooring; Install Lighting; Vanity Mirror; Finish Closet;
Downstairs Bathroom – Finished Paint
This room is hard to take a picture of because of its size and the fact that it has no outside lighting. Hopefully you can see how it is coming along.
To-do List: Finish tile; Install lighting; Install bath hardware
The rest of the walls are prepped and ready to be painted the next few days. Hopefully I will be able to post more colors tomorrow!
